Help Series: Resources for Comfort in Hard Times
You don’t need anything special to support a child through trauma. What they need more than anything else is YOU.
However, we can be mindful about how we support our children.
Physical needs always trump all other needs. Beyond that, we want to support children feeling safe and secure, so we are going to focus on things that can help calm down their nervous systems.
Things like movement, art, music, and stories are wonderful, not just for children but for adults too!
Below are a few resources that you can access for free from your phone or computer, but you can also see our other lists of resources further down the page that will link you to specific items that my children and other children I’ve worked with have enjoyed during a wide range of challenging times.
